Q4：When and how do you get inspiration to write and/or compose new song?
質問4：作詞や作曲をするための発想はどんな時にどんな風に浮ぶのですか？
Leehom：Inspiration strikes like lightning. It can be random, uncontrollable, or missed if you blink. It's nice to have inspiration and write a song in 5 minutes. But like Einstein said, "genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". Having too much inspiration can be a bad thing...because when it's time to get the song recorded, arranged, and mixed etc, that 1% can actually distract me from the other 99%. I guess I try and shift gears and put myself in "find inspiration" mode, and then follow with "work like a mad-man" mode.
リーホン：インスピレーションは雷みたいにパッと閃きます。それは不意にやってくるもので、コントロールできないし、あっという間に逃げてしまう。発想が浮んで5分間で曲が書けたらいいのにね。でも、アインシュタインが言うように「天才とは1％の閃きと99％の努力である」。あんまりたくさん閃くのは悪いことかもしれない…だって、レコーディングがすんで、アレンジもして、ミキシングその他もやって…って時になって、その1％がその他の99％（の努力）から僕を実際に狂わせてしまうんだから。ギアをシフトして自分を「閃き探し」モードに入れようとすると、「気狂いみたいに働く」モードになっていくようです。
Q5：Which instrument is the most one you love to play? Do you have any other instrument to challenge from now?
質問5：どの楽器を弾くのが一番好きですか？ 今から他に挑戦してみたい楽器はありますか？
Leehom：My favorite instrument now is my G4 powerbook laptop computer. You've probably seen me at one time or another with a big black backpack on my back. Well, inside that backpack is my computer and a miniature keyboard piano so I can arrange and record in the car or airplane just as easily as in the hotel room! It helps to have my favorite instrument with me at all times when inspiration strikes (see question 4).
リーホン：僕が今好きな楽器は、僕のラップトップ・コンピュータ「Powerbook G4」です。おそらく、皆さんは僕が背中に大きな黒いバックパックを背負ってる姿を何回か見ているでしょう。そのバックパックの中には僕のコンピュータと小さなピアノのキーボードが入っていて、車でも飛行機でも、ホテルの部屋にいるのと同じように簡単に編曲したり録音したりできるんです！ 閃いた時に（質問4を見てね）いつでも僕の好きな楽器といられるように助けてくれるんですよ。
Q6：What is your most important thing for you? Do you have a message you want to say through your music?
質問6：あなたにとって一番大切なものは何ですか？ 音楽を通じて伝えたいメッセージがありますか？
Leehom：I believe in the power of music. I truly feel that music can bring us all together and make this world a better, more harmonious place. The messages that my music carries are as varied as my life is, my songs are an honest reflection of who I am and how I feel towards the world.
リーホン：僕は音楽の力を信じています。音楽は僕たち全員を一つにして、この世界をもっとよりよく、調和した場所にしてくれると心から感じます。僕の音楽が伝えるメッセージは、僕の人生と共に変わっていきます。僕の歌には、僕が誰なのか、世界に対してどのように感じているかが忠実に反映されているのです。
Q7：As an actor, do you have a special character you want to challenge? And do you have any actor or actress you want to play with?
質問7：俳優として、特に挑戦してみたい役柄はありますか？ また、共演してみたい俳優さんはいますか？
Leehom：Acting to me, is a hobby that helps inspire my music, and it also gets me out of the studio and interacting with other people, i.e. having a social life! I am also attracted by the teamwork involved in making movies. It's such a great feeling to watch the product that we created together in the movie theater for the first time.
リーホン：僕にとって演じることとは、音楽に霊感を与えるのを助けてくれる趣味なんです。それに、僕をスタジオの外に連れ出して他の人たちと影響し合う機会も与えてくれる、つまり、社会生活をさせてくれるんです！ また、映画を撮影する時のチームワークにも魅かれます。皆で一緒に創った作品を映画館で最初に観る時は最高の気分です。
